# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 large egg
02 - 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
03 - ½ tsp baking powder
04 - Green gel food coloring
05 - ⅔ cup sugar
06 - ½ cup butter, softened
07 - ½ tsp salt
08 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
09 - ½ tsp baking soda

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and let it heat up.
02 - Use a big bowl to cream together the sugar, softened butter, and vanilla until smooth.
03 - Crack in the egg, then mix everything again until it's smooth and combined.
04 - Toss in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt to the butter mixture. Mix until it turns into dough.
05 - Add the green gel food coloring and stir until the dough's color is even. Adjust based on how bold you want the green.
06 - Scoop out dough with a 1-tablespoon scooper. Roll each into a ball and place them on your greased baking pan.
07 - Press a fork into each dough ball in two different directions to make a shell pattern. Make sure they're about ½-inch thick when flattened.
08 - Shape a small bit of dough for the head, and tinier bits for the legs. Attach them carefully to each turtle body.
09 - Pop them into the hot oven and bake for 5-7 minutes. Watch for the bottoms to lightly brown before taking them out.
10 - Move the cookies onto a cooling rack after baking, and don't touch them until they've cooled completely.
11 - Once the cookies are cool, grab an edible marker and gently draw eyes on the turtles.
