Turn your oven on and set it to 375°F to warm up.

Beat the butter, salt, and sugar in a mixer fitted with the paddle piece.

Add vanilla and eggs to the butter mixture and stir it in well.

Gradually mix in the flour, nutmeg, and cornstarch on a low speed until blended. Chill dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft.

Spread dough out to a thickness between ¼ and ½ inch on a floured countertop. Use cutters to shape them as you like.

Put the tray in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes. They’re done when the edges are barely golden. Don’t let them overcook!
