# Ingredients:

→ Key Components

01 - ½ cup butter, at room temperature
02 - ⅔ cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 tsp vanilla flavoring
05 - ½ tsp baking soda
06 - ½ tsp baking powder
07 - ½ tsp table salt
08 - 1¾ cups plain flour
09 - Green food gel dye

# Instructions:

01 - Get the oven warmed up to 400°F (about 200°C).
02 - Whip together the softened butter, sugar, and vanilla until creamy in a big bowl.
03 - Crack in the egg and beat until it blends completely with everything else.
04 - Toss in the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Stir it all up until the dough is smooth.
05 - Add a bit of green gel dye to the dough and mix until the color spreads evenly. Use more or less depending on the type of dye.
06 - Scoop out dough with a small cookie scoop (1 tablespoon size), roll into balls, and place them on a greased baking sheet.
07 - Flatten the dough balls lightly with a fork in a crisscross pattern for the shell detail. Keep them about ½ inch thick.
08 - Pinch off tiny dough bits to form a head and four limbs for every turtle. Attach them gently to the round body.
09 - Put cookies in the oven for roughly 5-7 minutes until the edges look slightly golden.
10 - Move the turtles onto a wire rack and leave them there to cool completely.
11 - When the cookies have cooled, grab an edible pen and carefully draw on eyes for each turtle.
