Turn on the broiler to preheat and set the rack around 6 inches below the heat. Lightly spray a baking tray with cooking spray.

In a little bowl, stir together cinnamon, sugar, and cloves.

Dip the flat side of the figs into the sugar mixture a couple of times. Place them on the tray, cut side facing up.

Pop them under the broiler for about 4 minutes, keeping an eye out so the sugar caramelizes and the figs soften perfectly. Serve right away.
