Cinnamon Rolls Mardi Gras (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ 2-Part Dough Mix

01 - 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (can use fat-free or regular)
02 - 1 to 1¼ cups self-rising flour (adjust as needed)

→ Filling with Cinnamon

03 - 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (adjust to your liking)
04 - 1 tablespoon butter, melted
05 - ¼ to ½ cup brown sugar (swap with brown sugar stevia if you'd like)

→ Glaze Topping

06 - 2 tablespoons milk (or more for smoother texture)
07 - ¼ cup powdered sugar

→ Themed Sugar Sprinkles

08 - Purple food dye
09 - Yellow food dye
10 - Green food dye
11 - ½ cup sugar or stevia (split evenly among colors)

# Instructions:

01 - In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and flour. Use extra flour to keep the dough workable, as it can get sticky quickly.
02 - Sprinkle a flat surface generously with flour. Roll out the dough into a rectangular sheet using a rolling pin.
03 - Coat the rolled-out dough lightly with the melted butter. Mix the cinnamon into the sugar first, then scatter the mix across the buttered dough.
04 - Roll the dough into a log and slice it into roughly a dozen pieces. Arrange the rolls in a glass 8x8 baking pan.
05 - Set your oven to 365-375°F. Bake the rolls for about 25 minutes but keep an eye on them since oven temps can vary.
06 - While the rolls bake, stir together the milk and powdered sugar until you achieve a glaze-like texture.
07 - Put small amounts of sugar or stevia in mason jars. Add a few drops of food coloring (green, purple, yellow) to each jar, cover, and shake for 30 to 45 seconds. Use more dye for vivid colors.
08 - After pulling the rolls out of the oven, paint them with the icing. Sprinkle the colored sugar in patches for a bright Mardi Gras design.

# Notes:

01 - These bright, Mardi Gras-style cinnamon rolls are a treat and come together super easily with just two basic ingredients for the dough.
02 - Try swapping plain yogurt for vanilla-flavored to add a bit of sweetness—it works as long as the flavors don’t clash.
03 - If your dough feels sticky, use more flour on your tools and workspace to make handling easier.
04 - Icing isn’t mandatory—dust with cinnamon instead if you’d prefer a less sweet option.
05 - Want finer sugar sprinkles? Roll over them in a sealed bag with a rolling pin to smooth them out.
