01 -
Gather honey, yeast, sugar, and warm water. Make sure the water is about 110°F so it doesn’t kill the yeast.
02 -
Mix the sugar, honey, and warm water in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast across the surface and leave it alone for 5-10 minutes until it looks bubbly and frothy.
03 -
Grab a bowl and toss in 3 1/2 cups flour, garlic powder, and a generous pinch of salt. Whisk them until well combined.
04 -
Stir olive oil into the bubbly yeast mix. Slowly add the dry mixture while stirring. Use a spoon or a stand mixer (fitted with a dough hook) until the dough comes together.
05 -
Move the dough to a floured countertop. Knead it for 5-7 minutes until it’s nice and stretchy. Sprinkle in extra flour if it feels sticky.
06 -
Shape the dough into a rounded ball, place it in a greased bowl, and cover with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel. Keep it somewhere warm for about an hour or until it has doubled its size.
07 -
Press the dough down to remove trapped air. Split it into two even portions and form each into a ball.
08 -
Cover the dough balls and let them puff up again for 30 minutes. Use this time to get your toppings prepped and ready.
09 -
Sprinkle some flour on your counter, then use your hands or a rolling pin to stretch out the dough into your preferred pizza size and thickness.
10 -
Heat the oven to 475°F. Bake the base for 5-7 minutes before layering on your toppings.
