Marbled Valentine Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Layer

01 - 1 large egg
02 - 1 cup butter, softened to room temp
03 - 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
04 - 2¾ cups plain flour
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
06 - 1½ cups white sugar

→ Colors

07 - Pink food gel
08 - Red food gel

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and measure everything you’ll need before starting.
02 - Use a bowl to cream your butter and sugar until fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla while mixing.
03 - Mix your baking powder and flour together in another bowl.
04 - Slowly mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until you’ve got a smooth dough.
05 - Divide the dough in half. Dye each piece with the food colors of your choice, then twist small amounts together for a marbled look.
06 - Spread the marbled cookies on a baking sheet with parchment and bake 10-12 minutes. They’re ready when edges just start to turn golden.
