Creamy Sausage Dish (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 8 ounces of small pasta, like ditalini, uncooked
02 - Take the casing off 1 pound of Italian sausage, if needed
03 - 1 medium onion, chopped up finely
04 - 2 teaspoons of garlic, minced super fine

→ Broth and Spices

05 - One can (14.5 oz) of petite diced tomatoes
06 - 4 cups of a good chicken broth or stock
07 - A teaspoon of your favorite Italian herb seasoning
08 - Add fresh black pepper and salt to your taste

→ Creamy Add-ins

09 - 4 ounces of softened cream cheese
10 - Freshly grated Parmesan, about 1/2 cup
11 - 1/2 cup of whipping cream or heavy cream
12 - Chopped parsley, about 1 tablespoon

# Instructions:

01 - Heat a big pot and cook the sausage and onion until the sausage is fully browned. Break it into small pieces while cooking, then pour off any extra grease once done.
02 - Add the minced garlic next, stirring it for about 60 seconds until it’s fragrant. Pour in the broth, the diced tomatoes, seasonings, and pasta right after.
03 - Bring everything to a rolling boil. Then turn the heat to low and let it gently simmer for around 6 to 8 minutes or until the pasta is just cooked through but still firm.
04 - Lower the heat to a bare minimum. Stir in the whipped cream, Parmesan, and cream cheese slowly until they create a creamy, smooth mixture. Taste it and adjust the seasoning however you like.
05 - Sprinkle some parsley on top, serve it while hot, and savor the comforting flavors.

# Notes:

01 - Left too long, the pasta might suck up more broth and turn the soup thicker.
02 - Want to mix it up? Try diced potatoes instead of pasta.
03 - For extra substance, add celery or carrot chunks while boiling.
04 - Toss in some spinach at the end for a fresh green touch.
05 - Craving spice? A sprinkle of crushed red pepper will do the trick.
