02 - 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
03 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
04 - 1 lb ground beef
05 - 1 medium onion, diced
06 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
07 - Salt and pepper to taste
08 - 1 lb Italian sausage

→ Creamy Cheese Layer

09 - 1/2 cup sour cream
10 - 2 cups ricotta cheese or cottage cheese
11 - 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
12 - 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
13 - 1 large egg
14 - 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

→ Pasta Layer

15 - 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained (or no-boil noodles)

# Instructions:

01 - In a big skillet, cook the beef and sausage together over medium heat. Throw in the chopped onion and garlic. Stir in the marinara, tomatoes, and seasoning. Sprinkle in a pinch of salt and pepper, and let it bubble gently for about 10–15 minutes.
02 - Grab a bowl and toss in the cottage cheese or ricotta, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, Parmesan, and half the mozzarella. Stir until it’s super creamy and smooth.
03 - Grab a 9×13 dish and start with a scoop of the meat sauce spread on the bottom. Add a layer of noodles, then some cheesy filling. Keep building the layers until you’re out of ingredients, with the rest of the mozzarella on the top.
04 - Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes. Take off the foil and let it bake for another 20 minutes, until the top melts and gets golden brown.
05 - Wait about 10 minutes to let it cool a bit before slicing and digging in.
