Toasted Italian Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meats and Bread

01 - 4 slices ham or capicola
02 - 1 large ciabatta or Italian sub roll
03 - 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese
04 - 4 slices pepperoni
05 - 4 slices salami

→ Toppings - Fresh

06 - 4 tomato slices
07 - 1 cup lettuce, shredded
08 - 2 tablespoons banana peppers (optional)
09 - 2 tablespoons thin red onion slices

→ Condiments and Dressing

10 - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
11 - 1 teaspoon Italian herbs blend
12 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
13 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard or mayo (if using)

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven and set it to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Take the ciabatta or sub and carefully slice it open lengthwise, then place it open on a sheet pan.
03 - Layer cheese first, then salami, pepperoni, and finally ham onto one half of the bread.
04 - Slide the sandwich into the oven and bake for around 6-8 minutes till you see the cheese gooey and the bread toasted.
05 - In a small dish, combine lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and Italian spices.
06 - Once the sandwich comes out hot, add the veggie mix over the melted cheese. Spread mustard or mayo on the top half of the bread (optional), close it up, cut in half, and enjoy right away.

01 - You can switch it up by adding toppings like roasted red peppers, pickles, or black olives.
02 - Feel free to swap out the meats and cheeses to your liking.
03 - Using a panini press will give you a crispy pressed version.
