Turn your oven on to 350°F (177°C) and get a baking pan ready, either 9×9 or 9×13 inches depending on how thick you want your dessert.

Stir together the cake mix, 1 egg (save the other two eggs for the filling), and half the butter (113 g). Combine well, then press this mixture into your pan and set aside.

Using a mixer with a paddle or beaters, cream the softened cream cheese on medium speed until it's completely smooth. Add in the peanut butter and the remaining two eggs, beating until blended.

Turn down the mixer speed and add the powdered sugar bit by bit. Slowly drizzle in the last 113 g of butter and mix thoroughly. Lastly, pour in the vanilla and blend until silky.

Spread the filling over the base in the pan, and place it in the oven for around 50 minutes. The center should stay just a little soft. Take care not to bake it too long.

Leave the cake on a cooling rack to cool off slightly while you put together the rich ganache topping.
