Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Chocolate Cake

01 - 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
02 - 2 cups powdered sugar
03 - 3 eggs, kept separate
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
05 - 1 package (15.25 ounces) German chocolate cake mix
06 - 1 cup creamy peanut butter
07 - 226 g melted butter

→ Topping

08 - ½ cup whipping cream
09 - ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
10 - ½ cup smooth peanut butter
11 - ¼ cup peanut butter chips

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F (177°C) and get a baking pan ready, either 9×9 or 9×13 inches depending on how thick you want your dessert.
02 - Stir together the cake mix, 1 egg (save the other two eggs for the filling), and half the butter (113 g). Combine well, then press this mixture into your pan and set aside.
03 - Using a mixer with a paddle or beaters, cream the softened cream cheese on medium speed until it's completely smooth. Add in the peanut butter and the remaining two eggs, beating until blended.
04 - Turn down the mixer speed and add the powdered sugar bit by bit. Slowly drizzle in the last 113 g of butter and mix thoroughly. Lastly, pour in the vanilla and blend until silky.
05 - Spread the filling over the base in the pan, and place it in the oven for around 50 minutes. The center should stay just a little soft. Take care not to bake it too long.
06 - Leave the cake on a cooling rack to cool off slightly while you put together the rich ganache topping.
