Easy Caramel Walnuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - ⅛ teaspoon salt, plus extra for sprinkling
02 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
03 - ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon packed golden brown sugar
04 - ¼ cup water
05 - 1 cup walnuts

# Instructions:

01 - Set a large plate or tray with parchment paper or a silicone mat on top. Put it off to the side for now.
02 - Toss all the listed items into a medium non-stick pan.
03 - Turn the stove to high heat and cook for 4 minutes, giving it a stir every now and then.
04 - Drop the heat to medium and keep stirring for one more minute. The mixture will dry up completely, and the walnuts will get shiny, clump together, and darken a little.
05 - Shift the nuts onto the prepped plate, making sure to scrape out any leftover caramel from the pan. Spread them evenly, sprinkle sea salt over the top, and let them cool down. Once cooled, break them up using your hands.

# Notes:

01 - A non-stick pan works best here.
02 - Make sure all the moisture is gone for a crunchy result.
03 - Scoop any leftover caramel in the pan onto the nuts.
04 - Stick to golden brown sugar; don’t switch to dark brown sugar.
