Crispy Bacon Chestnuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3/4 cup ketchup.
02 - 1 tablespoon parsley.
03 - 3 cans of unsliced water chestnuts (8 oz each).
04 - 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
05 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
06 - 1 pound of bacon, sliced into thirds.
07 - Cooking spray.
08 - 1/2 cup plus an additional tablespoon of brown sugar.
09 - 1/4 cup soy sauce.

# Instructions:

01 - Combine the chestnuts, soy sauce, garlic powder, and 1 tablespoon of brown sugar. Let it sit in the fridge for a while, anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
02 - Preheat the oven to 400°F. Spray a wire rack and set it on top of a baking sheet.
03 - Take a chunk of bacon and wrap it around each chestnut. Hold it together with a toothpick.
04 - Let the bacon-wrapped chestnuts cook on the rack for about 25 minutes.
05 - Stir together the rest of the brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Cover the chestnuts with this mixture.
06 - Pop them back in the oven for another 20 minutes, or until the bacon is nice and crunchy. Sprinkle parsley on top to finish.

# Notes:

01 - Stick with whole chestnuts and skip the sliced ones.
02 - Choose regular bacon, not thick slices.
