Pickled Grapes Treat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Brining Mixture

01 - 236 mL (1 cup) of hot water
02 - 100 g (½ cup) of sugar
03 - 236 mL (1 cup) of apple cider vinegar
04 - 2 small cinnamon sticks
05 - 1 tablespoon of coriander seeds
06 - 1 fresh bay leaf
07 - 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
08 - 1 teaspoon of whole black peppercorns
09 - a 2-inch piece of peeled ginger, thinly sliced

→ Core Ingredient

10 - 2–3 cups of seedless red grapes

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up some water using a kettle, microwave, or stovetop until it’s steaming. Add the sugar and stir until combined. Pour in the apple cider vinegar, then add the spices (cinnamon sticks, ginger, bay leaf, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, and coriander seeds). Set the mixture aside to cool slightly.
02 - Take the grapes off their stems and rinse them well. If any grapes are large, slice them in half so they can soak up more flavor.
03 - Layer the grapes into a clean, large glass or ceramic container with a lid. Arrange the ginger slices, cinnamon sticks, and bay leaf throughout the layers. Pour the brine over the grapes, making sure they’re completely under the liquid. Toss in as much of the seasonings as you want. Let the container sit until it gets to room temperature, then seal it and pop it in the fridge. Chill for at least an hour before serving.

# Notes:

01 - If you want bolder flavors, leave the grapes to pickle overnight.
