Garlic Mushrooms Side (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 tablespoons fresh garlic, chopped (about 6 cloves)
02 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 2 tablespoons olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
04 - 2 pounds cremini mushrooms (or any mix you like)

→ Seasonings

05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
06 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce (sub tamari for gluten-free)
07 - 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves or 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (more to garnish)
08 - 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar, add more if needed
09 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

# Instructions:

01 - Use a damp sponge or towel to clean mushrooms. Cut them into slices about a half-inch thick.
02 - Put olive oil into a big skillet or Dutch oven and set it over medium heat. Once warmed, toss in butter, mushrooms, salt, and pepper.
03 - Cook the mushrooms for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring now and then, till they're soft and most of the liquid is gone. If there's extra liquid, pour it off. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic. Stir for 30 seconds more, keeping a close eye on it.
04 - Take off the heat. Mix in herbs, taste to see if seasoning needs tweaking, and serve warm, sprinkling on extra fresh herbs.

# Notes:

01 - Stays good in the fridge for up to five days.
02 - Can keep frozen for around three months.
03 - Any type of mushrooms can work.
