# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup mayonnaise
02 - 1 pound of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
03 - 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne for a little heat
04 - 1 small onion, finely grated
05 - 1 cup of finely chopped pecans
06 - Strawberry preserves to go on top

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a big skillet and toast your pecans on medium heat until they're golden and smell great. Cool them off, but save a bit for sprinkling later if you'd like.
02 - In a big mixing bowl, toss together the cheddar, mayo, cayenne, onion, and pecans. Stir until it's all blended nicely.
03 - Using a spatula, shape the cheese blend into a ring on your serving dish. Pop it in the fridge covered with plastic wrap for at least a few hours to firm up.
04 - Let it sit out for half an hour to soften before serving. Sprinkle on the extra pecans and fill the center with strawberry preserves. Pair with crackers and enjoy!

# Notes:

01 - This is a sweet and savory classic from the South, balancing sharp cheese, nutty flavors, and strawberry sweetness.
02 - First Lady Rosalynn Carter made this dish popular, and it's now a must-have at parties.
