Lemon Puppy Chow (Print Version)
# Ingredients:

6 cups of Rice Chex cereal

10 ounces of vanilla-flavored white candy melts

4 tablespoons salted butter, melted

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest, split in half
→ Sugar Dusting

2 to 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
# Instructions:

Dump Rice Chex cereal into a big mixing bowl.

Combine the melted butter with lemon juice and half of the lemon zest. Drizzle over the cereal and gently stir to coat every piece.

Put white candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and zap for 1 minute. Stir it, then heat in 30-second bursts, mixing after each round, until it's smooth.

Pour the melted candy onto the cereal. Toss it gently until every piece is covered evenly.

Sprinkle 1 cup of powdered sugar over the mix and toss lightly. Add the rest (1 to 1 1/2 cups) until you've got your ideal coating.

Put the mix in a serving dish. Sprinkle with the other half teaspoon of lemon zest for a pop of color and flavor.

Heat candy slowly or it could clump up.

Don’t over-stir, or the cereal might fall apart.

It’s okay to leave a few clusters in the mix.
